    State your objections

Over the years, many objections to democratic reform have been formulated, some to devastating effect. Some have a portion of truth, giving them initial appeal, but all are in one way or another seriously flawed. Plenty more than those listed here have been trundled out over the years, and if you have an anti-democratic critique or problem with our proposal not sufficiently answered below, please don’t be shy. For now, here are the most often heard objections to reform linked to responding posts, (dealt with more enjoyably hopefully in the movie):

    “People are too stupid.”

    “What about minority rights?”

“This is a republic not a democracy”

“Look at California” (Questions of scale and money)

    “The People aren’t accountable.”

    Any thoughts?
